12/13/08 Running Out

Well now I'm running out of time again,
sitting around making treasure maps,
waiting for the snow to stop, waiting
for the year to end.

I only have these few precious days left
to say all the things I didn't say all the other days
when I was trying not to say so many things.
I am not very complicated.

I wish I could take back all the stupid words
and replace them with the things that really mattered,
but even now I am just treading water,
waiting,
filling it up.
