6/3/08 Sweatshop Sundress

Eric is up
watching the Alaska sun
spin in circles in the sky.

Danni is over
commuting and working
on nanny negotiations.

Spencer, well
Spencer, you know Spencer.

And my ethical compromise
(the sweatshop sundress)
was like a floodgate opening

and now I've got new clothes
everywhere. I even went to Kohl's.
Fresh from the sweatshop.

Still smell like sweat
some of em do. And me all guilty.

How could you?????
Yeah, I just bought a pair of shorts for Malaya that cost $2.99 at Target. That was full price. $2.99 minus rent, power, insurance, sales people wages/benies, local shipping, tax, international shipping, packaging, materials/ cloth, factory or origin costs...and salary for the poor person who made it. hmmmmmm. And Target had a sign up that said they give 5% of profits back, which equals $5 Million a week, which equals $100 Million a week in profit x 52, you see where I'm going.

I don't commute. I walk 10 min. to work. So does Ray. xo.
