When all the fireworks were gone
the kids chased fireflies instead.

Grandma Henry remembered loading everybody into the car
and driving down to the river late at night to watch them.

In Spanish they are called luciernagas,
but in Cacalote they called them estrellitas.

Little stars.
Grandma Henry said the river looked just like Las Vegas.
