I realize this may be a contentious topic,
but what is a salad exactly?
Sometimes it's easier to start the maze at Finish.
So the question becomes: what is a salad not?
A salad is not marshmallows.
A salad is not mayonnaise.
A salad is not jello.
A salad is not bacon.
A salad is not snickers.
A salad is not cool whip.
Along a similar vein, I might have said that
cheeseburgers are not soup, but I don't
want to get kicked out of North Dakota.

Well said! My in-laws love love love cool whip salads. I always have to hide my smart-ass smirk when another cool whip-and-crushed-cookie salad comes rolling out of the fridge! PS - saw your blog listed in the ND blog list, I like the poem-a-day idea
